Feeling Better

Still only runninng five, but the side of my knee got tight, but not painful. Things are looking up! Can’t wait to increase my mileage again.

Slow Run

Slow run knee is still hurting. I am totally bummed. Not sure what to do to bring it around. I need to increase my distance for a half marathon in September. Any advice?

Good Run, Sore Knee

Had a nice run, trying to incorporate what I have been learning in my running class. Toward the end I could feel the side of my knee getting tight. I got up this morning and it is down right sore. I am a little fusterated, because I wanted to run today since I won’t be able to run this weekend. Maybe it needs a little rest anway. I am not sure what I did to my knee. Hopefully it will heal soon.

bummer of a run

I ran today in hopes of mixing in the suggested workout from my running class. I didn’t do as much walking as they recommended, it is hard for me to give up the miles in running. Toward the end the outside of my right knee was hurting pretty bad. I did stretching and 15 minutes of yoga to try to work it out. Now I am headed to the ice.

New running class

Just started on running class on Thursday. We had to do a timed mile and I was pleased with my 7 minute 41 second time. Can’t wait to improve. I am a little worried because the class work out is much different than my 1/2 marathon training work out, but I will figure it out. I love the new world that running has opened up to me. I can still feel the 10 miles I did last Wednesday, but I need to get a run in tomorrow. Cheers!

10 miles and lovin it!

I just ran my first ten miles and besides for some sore knees I am lovin it. I am hoping my knees do recover well.

Picking up the Pace

Today I ran my usual five mile route, but I picked up the pace (for me) and ran 9 minute miles. It felt great. I haven’t been too concerned with pace yet, but it nice to feel that it is progressing along with distance. This running really gets under you skin! Love it!

First Race 10k in underwear

Yesterday I completed the 10k in Vancouver Canada. The race was a benefit to raise money for cancers below the waste. Uncover the Cure, the Underwear Affair. So we ran through Vancouver in our underwear. First time race and first time to run in underwear. It was a great event. I am looking forward to getting my time. I ran with three ladies that helped me pick the pace. Can’t wait to do it again next year!

Sunny Run

I tried to pick up my pace today in the hot sun. Went pretty well. I could of used a little more spark, but overall it was a good run. Any good advice out there on how to increase speed a little while still increasing miles? I am running a half marathon in September and need to make sure I can run 13.1 but I would also like to increase my speed a little.

Yoga for Balance

Had a great yoga practice tonight. Kicked my butt! I love how yoga stretches and strengthens all those muscles groups I can’t seem to get to after a run. This Saturday I am running a 10k in the Underwear Affair in Vancouver, BC. I can’t wait. We get to run through the streets of Vancouver in underwear to raise money for cancer treatment. Too much fun… I can’t wait.

Long run success

I am half way through my training for a half marathon and finally broke the 1 hour mark for running. I ran for 72 minutes. It felt great! I can’t wait to hit the trails again and run even longer. Today I am going to try to balance with some yoga. Have a great 4th everyone!
